WORKING QUEBECORP.

On March 20th 2008 (my birthday FWIW) I was lucky enough to be passing by Quebecorp as #1703 arrived to work the siding there. Here's a selection of pictures of the process...

#1703 arrives at quebecorp

Here we see #1703 arriving caboose first. It has 3 gondolas of scrap and an ex-Corinth and Counce box car which is destined for delivery to Quebecorp.

blocking the road

The train is pushed into the headshunt, which is really the remains of the old line. The Gondolas are left there and the Loco pulls forward with the box car blocking the road

Switching the turnout

The turnout is then switched...

into the siding

... and the loco pushes the box car down to its alotted unloading dock.

pulling away

Then with a belch of black smoke , the loco pulls away to rejoin the rest of the train

heading for home

Once coupled up the loco, gondolas and caboose head back into Saint Cloud. The whole operation took no more than 10-15 minutes.
